The rule of law challenge in the EU: Experiences and lessons learned from the Western Balkans

Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker will open the ideas lab event and several of his colleagues will contribute to the debate, together with a number of prominent MEPs and national policy makers. The Foreign Minister of Belgium Didier Reynders will close, together with Lilyana Pavlova, the Bulgarian Minister for EU Presidency. Ivan Krastev will hold the final academic lecture.
Chiara Goretti, Member of the European Economic and Social Committee; Ionuţ Sibian, Member of the Council of the Parliamentary Budget Office (upB);
are respondents to the Fiscal council brief. Four more Engage fellows from Poland, Hungary, Kosovo and Albania will present their papers as well.
Marjan Nikolov, President of CEA is preparing a Policy brief about the Fiscal council in Macedonia. The paper will be discussed at the CEPS’s ideas lab 2018.
