In Memoriam: Professor Giorgio Brosio
It is with deep sadness that the Center for Economic Analyses (CEA) shares the news of the passing of Prof. Giorgio Brosio, an esteemed member of the CEA Advisory Board, who passed away on September 5, 2026.
At CEA, we are deeply saddened by this loss. Prof. Brosio was not only a distinguished scholar but also an exceptional colleague whose warmth, wisdom, were highly valued by our entire team. He strongly appreciated and supported the mission and work of CEA. He will be dearly missed by all of us.
Remembering Prof. Giorgio Brosio
Prof. Giorgio Brosio was Professor Emeritus of Public Finance at the University of Turin (UniTo), where he taught from 1981 and was awarded the title of Professor Emeritus in 2014. Over a career spanning more than half a century, he became a leading international figure in public economics. His research covered fiscal federalism, public choice, natural resource taxation, and economic development in emerging markets.
Beyond his extensive scholarly legacy, he will be remembered with great affection for his gentle nature, generosity, and sharp intellect. The Center for Economic Analyses extends its heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues, and the global academic community.
