The Center for Economic Analyses (CEA) is a research center comprised of economists sharing a common vision of Republic of Macedonia as a new European emerging economy integrated with regional and global markets. CEA’s mission is to continuously research economic development and public policy in the Republic of Macedonia and to offer recommendations, suggestions and measures to the governmental and nongovernmental institutions. We believe that the capacity of CEA members for quantitative analyses and professional practice results in a professional institution that will strengthen public policy discussions and that can create an environment for growth and development of the Macedonian economy.

In order to fulfill its basic mission, the Center for Economic Analysis in partnership with the local organizations Sonce, Sumnal and Svetla Idnina are implementing a project entitled “Employment for Roma youth”, financed by the EU IPA program – Human Resources Development, through the Ministry Finance in the Macedonia. The project aims at facilitating the inclusion of Roma youth in the labor market. This overall objective is intended to be achieved through: 1) increasing the skills and understanding of employability among Roma youth, 2) developing strategic guide for social and labor market inclusion of the target groups.

The project supports the social inclusion of Roma youth by increasing the employability skills, training and support for better use of the employment programs and resources, by which would contribute to economic and social development of the targeted municipalities Skopje, Tetovo, Kochani and Bitola, as municipalities greatest unemployed Roma. The benefits of the project are of particular importance for Roma youth and for the businesses in the targeted municipalities.
To achieve the project objectives, CEA and partner organizations need to build the capacities of the Roma youth in Skopje, Kochani, Bitola and Tetovo, by identifying the main needs for education and skills of the unemployed Roma youth, profiling the target group, analyzing the business sector and the labor market in targeted municipalities in general.
